Tipsico Lake was originally known as Little Long Lake, and is part of the Shiawassee River Basin.

It is 1015.81ft above sea level, covers 321 acres and has an average depth of 27ft.


Rose Township was originally populated by the Chippewa Indians. Tipsico Lake was named after one of their famous leaders, Chief Jacob Tipsico was born in Macomb County on March 1st, 1827 and died in 1914 at the age of 87. We was a renowned wrestler, strong ruler and friend to the local settlers.
